We’re bringing the blog back!

We’re bringing the blog back!

An example of my handwriting, for those curious.

It’s official – we’re bringing the Good Words blog back!

Over the past months, we’ve been hard at work handing over the reins to our new CEO, Ostin Zarse, as well as developing exciting new services for our clients. In that time, we’ve been deep in the weeds of technical writing projects:

  • Partnering with new clients
  • Overhauling information architectures
  • Implementing new strategies and tools to make writing more enjoyable and more useful for the user

Now, we’re bringing those insights to you.

Why This Blog Exists

Our goal with the Good Words blog has always been to share what we learn and to connect with the technical writing community. Although a blog sounds like an outdated format in this day and age, we’ve found that it allows for more personal and genuine sharing of knowledge and insights.

In the posts to come, you can expect stories from the field, lessons learned, and a closer look at how companies can use documentation as a tool for growth.

We’ll be covering topics like:

  • Customer success stories and case studies
  • Lessons learned from the more complex documentation projects
  • New strategies in the age of automation and AI
  • Industry news that affects technical writers and content teams
  • Updates from Good Words itself as we grow and evolve

What’s Available Now

If you haven’t already, check out the Good Words Documentation Calculator. It’s a simple tool we built to help teams estimate the value of technical writing. This calculator has already been used by dozens of managers to see the cost the lack of proper documentation can have (and boy, do those numbers stack up quickly!).

Two of the internal and external documentation impact calculators with example values, demonstrating the cost impact of a lack of documentation.
Two of the impact calculators with example data that’s not far off from a few clients.

We’re also working on a few new resources to share with the community, so stay tuned for more on that soon.

We’re excited to restart our blogging efforts and to reconnect with the tech writing community. If you’re tackling a documentation challenge, experimenting with AI tools, or just trying to write clearer, more useful docs, we’d love to hear from you.

— The Good Words Team
